     Nov. 8, 1900 -- Chase County's school population is 2,881.


     Born; Mr. & Mrs Fred Kerr, a son.


     Marriages; Mrs Hattie McKenzie, Elmdale to David J. Morgan of Noel, Mo.


     Phillip Uhl, on Praire Hill has been making extensive improvements in his residence, and addition of six rooms, with porches.


     The 101 Cattle Co. have most of the stone work done on their reservoir.


     Geo. George has sold his dray and express business to Henry Errett.


     There will be a new wood yard started by John Osmer & Lee Anker at Hymer.


     Deaths: J. A. Henderson former resident of this county, Sherry C. Smith, age 32, Mrs Eliza George, both of this city.


     Mrs. C. V. Ice entertained 30 friends in honor of her husband's birthday.


     Nov. 15, 1900 -- Marriage: Mary Mercer, Matfield to Mr. McKenzie.


     Geo. Simmons is doing the plastering on the reservoir for the 101 Cattle Co.


     The residents in the vicinity of Plumb postoffice are served mail from Emporia over Rural Free Delivery Route No. 3.


     Wm. Blackburn and Seward Baker sold their flax seed to J. J. Holmes of Clements


     The Telephone Co. has put in 93 boxes in this city and Strong, and have the Elmdale line complete.


     Marriage License to: Fritz Fillmore of Birley & Effie Crawford of Cottonwood Falls. Sylvester C. Bond & Mary Mercer of Matfield. Edward Frobenius, Marion & Minnie Koegeboehn of Elk.


     Susan Sauble, guardian of minor heirs of David Sauble, deceased, made annual settlement.


     Nov. 22, 1900 -- The value of school property in Chase Co. is placed at $67,540.


     Alta E. Rice formerly of this city married Abe N. Smith at Marion.


     The cost of the election was $214.45.


     The Ryan Bros. have purchased the Annex hotel to secure more rooms.


     A brilliant meter appeared in the east for a space of 4 to 5 seconds, bright as midday.


     Hulda Giese and Harley L. Drake, Cottonwood Falls are married.


     Marriage License To; Robert L. Stewart & Carrie Bottiger, Cottonwood Falls. Albert C. Malloy & Sallie L. Williams, Strong City.
