†††† May 31 - John I. McClellan has been appointed acting postmaster of the Cottonwood Falls postoffice.
†††† Jun 7 - Kenneth Eastham has been appointed as postmaster of Bazaar.
†††† Jun 14 - Jas A. Graham has been awarded the contract for building the new filling station for Wayne Keller in this city.
†††† Work has started on the Lyon County lake.
†††† Jun 21 - Half of the east side of the business section at Matfield Green is destroyed by fire.
†††† Jun 28 - Former Matfield Green, David W. Mercer has passed away.
†††† A group of fifteen young people, mostly of Strong City, have plans to attend the Century of Progress Fair in Chicago. They will make the trip by rail.
†††† Jul 5 - The Board of County Commissioners appointed Rex Bennett, of this city as County Commissioner of the poor and Mattie Kirk as case supervisor.
†††† A lifetime resident of Chase County, Wm. ReifSflyder, son of Mr. & Mrs D. M. Reifsnyder of Strong City died of pneumonia.
†††† Mr. & Mrs Charles Fear of Cottonwood Falls have a new baby girl, named Donna Jean.
†††† Claude Grokett, who has been taking a short course in the Ferrell Barber school, at Kansas City has returned and began working in his fatherís barber shop in this city.

†††† Jul 12 - From the present outlook, Chase County will have fewer district schools for the school year 1933ó34 than has been the case in many years.
†††† Mr. & Mrs Neil McCallum have adopted a little baby girl they secured from the Fairmount maternity home at Kansas City. She is five weeks old and has been named Mary Maude.
†††† Aug 9 - The Cottonwood Falls tennis team loses to Emporia.
†††† More than 250 men have registered with the county poor commissioner for relief work jobs up to this time.
†††† Aug 16 - Walter Hassan & Joe George, two Strong City prominent men are killed in an auto wreck.
†††† Wm. Steele Miller, 51, fifth child of Mr. & Mrs Arch Miller has passed away.
