Feb 7 - The scarlet fever epidemic is dying out at Cedar Point.
Feb 14 - The Middle Creek farmers are now using electricity.
Feb 21 - Matfield High wins county basketball tournament.
Mar 6 - J. A. Burnley has passed away. He had the Burnley Memorial Library built and donated it to the city, about a year ago.
Mar 13 - Jess Long was appointed by the City Council of Cottonwood Falls to fill out the unexpired term of Geo. Gutsch.
Peace officers of this city, Strong City, and the county, are cracking down on drunken drivers.
Apr 3 - Geo. A. (Jock) Mercer, one of Matfield Green’s oldest residents died in Wichita as the result of a heart attack.
Apr 17 - Chet Woodring, the best known merchant of the twin - cities has passed away.
Elmdale took first place in the six rural high school county track meet.
May 8 - Mrs Barney McCabe’s 90th birthday was celebrated at Bazaar.
May 15 - Twila King and Doyle E. Conley are wed.
Also Muriel Shumaker and Earl Evans.
May 22 - Forester Swift who had lived near Matfield Green for 66 years has died.
May 29 - C. A. Cowley died at his home in this city.
Jun 5 - Jim Graham has just completed the building of new concrete steps in front of the court house yard.
Jun 12 - Mr. & Mrs H. B. Jackson of Clements will celebrate 55th wedding anniversary. Before her marriage Mrs Jackson was Miss Josephine Ice.
Jun 19 - Miss Betty Rider, oldest daughter of Mrs Blanche Rider, of this city was married to Mr. Whitt Laughridge of Cedar Point. They will honeymoon in Colorado.
Due to the effors of the Wonsevu 4-H Club there are several newly painted mailboxes.

Jul 17 - Jack Osborn, 20, of this city, dies following a motor car accident. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs Harvey Osborn.
Miss Laura Mae McCabe became the bride of Mr. Darrell W. Spence.
Jul 24 - The Chase County Historical Society is ready to have Volume I of the history sketches printed.
John Symes, 97, year old Civil War veteran, died in the Marion Hospital. The last member of the GAR to die from Elmdale.
