     Jul 22 1959 - Head-on collision on Hiway 50 kills, 21 year old Irvin Bernard Rettiger of Strong City.

     Mrs Earl Miser of Bazaar dies at her home.

     Jul 29 - Flood control studies to be made on Diamond and Middle creek watersheds.

     Aug 5 - Mr. & Mrs Easter Heathman, Bazaar are the parents of a son, Thomas Robert.

     Aug 12 - 4-H picnic attracts more than 300 persons.

     Aug 19 - Lloyd C. Smith is the principal at Strong City High.

     Aug 26 - Proposed National Park in Chase County has been announced.

     Bazaar school gets extensive remodeling

     Sep 2 - Area resident Mrs Jess Snedegar of Matfield Green dies in hospital.

     Sep 9 - Roniger Brothers to make a gift of museum and indian relics collection to the county.

     Bud Dexter buys Skelly station in Cottonwood Falls from Ray M. Riggs.

     Sep 16 - Rock quarrying is to be resumed in Chase County by J. F. Lardner, cut stone contractor.

     Sep 23 - Roniger museum site is ready for construction. F. W. Huth is the contractor. The site is on the southwest corner of courthouse lawn.

     Sep 30 - Ann Roniger is third time winner of the National AAU Women’s Pentathlon.

     Oct 7 - Chase County Lake will open for fishing.

     Mrs. Wm. A. Eastham, a resident of Bazaar many years dies.

     J. E. Danfords celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.

     Oct 14 - New Treasurer, Mrs Juanita Gibb is sworn in, replacing Wayne Yenzer.

     Oct 21 - Nate Mitchell and Roy Conklin are taken in death.

     Nov 18 - Arthur D. Selves of Saffordville passed away as did Mrs Laura Howser.

     Nov 25 - Coin operated laundry to open soon in Cottonwood Falls by Mrs James Crisp.

     The Lloyd Clark home in Strong City is heavily damaged by fire.

     Dec 2 - Jim Venards sell Cozy Lunch to Thelma Rollins.

     Dec 16 - White Harlan, 101, of Matfield Green is taken in death.

     Dec 23 - Velva Burton wins cherry pie contest. She is a member of the Bazaar 4-H.

     Dec 30 - Girl Scouts will pick up discarded christmas trees.

     Jan 6 1960 - Ice skating area in Swope Park is ready for skating.

     Jan 13 - Harvey Osborn, 73, well known Cottonwood Falls resident, who was a retired mail carrier and dairy operator has passed away.
