     Apr. 14, 1904-- The best home made lard at Yeager's Market.


     Don A. Gillett has been appointed Rural Route carrier out of Plymouth, Ks.


     Apr. 28 - Virgil Brown who has been indentified with the stone industry of this county for years has died at Watrous, N. M.


     Peter Lind & Flora Tucker of Toledo are married.


     Miss Grace Richards who just finished her term at the College Musical Department gave her graduating recital at the First Presbyterian Church.


     Apr. 21 - All businesses closed in Strong City for the funeral of H. E. Lantry. Above all else Mr. Lantry was a generous man. His charity and generosity was great.


     Sophie Oberst & Wm. Austin are married and will live in Topeka.


     The city council met to discuss the possible sites for the new city building.


     Mrs Oscar Dunlap mother of Bert Dunlap died at Strong City.


     W. H. McMorris west of the Falls passed away.


     Dr. H. E. Lancaster Strong City dentist makes weekly trips to Elmdale on Saturdays.


     Little John David Sauble born in Florence in 1901 died on April 14th. from the measles. His parents are Mr. & Mrs Theo. Sauble.


     A. I. Nichol of Thurman has completed his new house.


     Apr. 28 - New depots are needed at Strong City & Cottonwood Falls.


     Lutie Kern has filed a lien on Gulliffords mill for his wages in helping build it.


     Report was received that the false work & part of the steel for the Saffordville bridge which is in course construction was taken out by the flood.


     Nick Brady of Elmdale died. Mr. Brady was a cousin of the Campbell boys of Middle creek.


     Anna, youngest daughter of Mr. Frank Byrnes of Cedar Point aged 22 has passed away.


     May 5 -- Officials will come to Strong City and find out the needs for a new depot.


     Mrs. Isaac Alexander has donated to the city, for use as a park the block of ground west of the court house. It has beeen suggested by the Leader that it be called Alexander Park.


     The new school house being built in the Falls is up to the first floor.


     Matilda Widner Jones died at the home of her son John, near Saffordville.


     Marriage license is issued to Carrol P. Fillmore & Nea Hudson both of Cottonwood Falls.


     May 12 - Chances on the $60 road wagon to be given away at West's are going fast.


     Strong City will get a new depot according to the Santa Fe officials who just held a meeting on this matter.
