Topic: THOMAS, What Cemeteries are in (or near) Glasco,KS?
From: Sandra STOKLOSA
Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2001 12:20 PM

Hello- I have recently found out my maternal GG-Grandfather is buried in Glasco,KS. He died June 8/1896. His name would read as John Calvin THOMAS -or- John Calvin THOMAS,Rev.-or- Calvin THOMAS.
I am needing information on the names of the cemeteries in or near Glasco...especially ones with graves dating 1896. Thank you.

From: Lori Halfhide
Date: Tuesday, January 01, 2002 09:17 PM

Rev. J.C. Thomas died 6/8/1896 and was buried at Glasco City Cemetery. He was 68 years 10 months old (Cloud County Early Deaths Vol I). However I could not find him in the Cloud County Cemetery book for Glasco Cemetery, meaning he is probably buried in an unmarked grave. In the 1895 Census:
J.C. Thomas 66, household head, born NY
Sarah Thomas, 51, born NY
Orion Thomas, 19, born Iowa
Clara Thomas, 17, born Kansas
Sarah Thomas, 15, born Kansas
Mason Thomas, 13, born Kansas
Haley Thomas (M), 9, born Kansas

They lived in Solomon Township. CCED VI says that they lived north of Glasco.
Hope this helps out.

Is there anyone who has access to the marriage records of Cloud County who could try to find a marriage for me? My grandfather was Charles Madison SCRIVEN. The bride's maiden name was Maggie WELLS, but she had been married at least 3 times before this marriage. Her name at the time of marriage should be MORRISON, but it could be PARSONS or ROCKEWELL. Thanks to anyone who can look for me.
