My query is for my Grandmother, Elizabeth Ellen (GILBRAITH) BLACK. She was born April 14, 1865, Died March 3, 1903, buried in the John McKee's Cemetery at Howell Ks. Her father George GILBRAITH was from Scotland married Martha RYAN in Chattanooga TN. George was a engineer on a Mississippi riverboat for the Northern Army from 1861 to 1865. They moved to Henderson, Mo (near Springfield) Elizabeth was born there. Elizabeth married my Grandfather William Henry BLACK, born July 9, 1865 in Cairo, Ill, died Feb 18, 1935, buried in Marion, Oh. They married in Henderson, Mo on May 10, 1884. They had five offspring, Grace Ethel born Dec 23, 1887, Louis James born 10/29/1890, Tina Mae born 8/4/1893 (she married a Clay Britton near Springfield Mo,) William n/m born 9/2/1885 (my Father,) Viola born 7/17/1899. Buried: Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls, Chase Co., Kansas. // First Enlistment ~~ Civil War // Enlisted: September 10, 1861 at Fairmount Township for 3 years service. I am looking for descendents of Leander M. GRISHAM and Willie Mae DUNCAN who were married in Dade County, MO in 1887. Leander died in Ford County 24 Feb 1954; Willie Mae apparently died before 1919. The following obit is of my Great Grandmother, any connections would be appreciated; OBITIUARY Myrtie Celestia KEYS Myrtie Celestia KEYS was born at Burlington, Kansas, January 2, 1872, and departed this life at the Trinity Methodist Hospital at Dodge City, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 28 days. For the past 18 years she lived in Kansas City, Mo., until she began to fail in health. She came to Dodge City to live with her daughter, Ferne. She was married to James Edwin KEYS in 1891, who preceded her in death in 1921. To this union, five children were born: Elma Berry of Riverside, Calif., Lucille Graves of Ness City, Claude KEYS of Kansas City, Mo., Merle Bieber of Ness City, and Ferne KEYS of Dodge City. Mrs. KEYS joined the Methodist church of Prairie View during early life and remained true this faith until her passing. Mrs. KEYS was a very devoted mother and always very thoughtful of her family. Besides her children, she leaves to mourn her passing: Four sisters and one brother: Pearl Conger of Bristow, Okla., Leon WATKINS of Halls Summit, Lula Moore of Waverly, Joy Brown of Kansas City, Mo., and Aimee Ward of Burlington. One sister, Clara Hester of LaCygne and two brothers, Maynard WATKINS and Harry WATKINS, preceded her in death. Besides her children and brothers and sisters, she leaves seven grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Waverly on Sunday, September 2, at 2 p.m. Interment was made in the Waverly Cemetery besides the body of her husband, James Edwin Keys. I am searching for information about the ancestors and siblings of Everett Tandy HILL. He was born Sep 11, 1860 in Monroe Co, MO. He married Lovetta Leora STEVENS on Feb 2, 1891 in KS. Together they raised 11 children, the last two being born in Dodge City. Everett died in Dodge City Jan 18, 1937. Most of the children moved to California as did Lovetta after Everett died.

MADISON, Edmond Haggard b. 1865 d. 1911 In between those dates, according to family tradition handed down by people who weren't there, he was Ford County's prosecutor, a Kansas judge and a school teacher. Was a member of U.S. Congress when he died. Buried at Maple Grove. Wife's maiden name may have been VANCE, possible Christian name Arilla (or variant). She may have been second wife. His daughter Lillian married Chester JACOBY, divorced, then later married ?? Nicholas. She was buried at Maple Grove. His daughter Marguerite (or variant) married Carl JACOBY. May have had other daughters, or stepdaughters. Lillian's son Edmond Madison JACOBY born Dodge City July 1918 buried at sea 1971, but there's supposed to be a US Gov-type marker at Maple Grove. JACOBY's must have been local family early 20th century, and Chester (Chet) may have worked for the Dodge City newspaper in the late teens or 1920s. Most of his adult life he seems to have been owner/editor of newspaper in Norton, KS. Other names associated with MADISON, unknown relationship: A. P. EMRIE; BOYD. Any information appreciated.
