JOHN, MANIS, WESLELY posted by Betty Crippin on Monday, November 5, 2007

I am searching for proof of death for my great grandfather, John W Manis. He was visiting his daughter and son-in-law, Nora and William Cameron about 1933 near Bonners Springs, when he died. In 1930 census they resided at Stranger Township, Ks. State records have no notice. He was probably taken to his home in Warrensburg, Mo for burial. Mo. has nothing either and cemetery records were destroyed in a fire.

HAMILTON posted by Shirley Baker on Friday, December 14, 2007

My direct line of Hamiltons is found in the 1910, 1920 & 1930 Census reports in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Kansas. I am looking for Dr. John L. Hamilton (physician)from Delaware Co., OH (born about 1855). In the 1930 Census he is 75 and wife Elsie E. is 53. They had 10 children. I have searched Ancestry for John's death but found no records or mention after the Census. I did find that a Elsie E. Hamilton died May 13, 1958 (maiden name Watson)in a notice of an obit from the Leavenworth Times but not able to find the actual obit. I would like to get a copy of the actual obits to see dates and info. Where do I go to get these obits? I am sure John L. was a prominent figure in Leavenworth and somewhere there has to be an obit, maybe a front page story. HELP.
