Columbus Robertson has just returned from Urbana where he buried his mother Mr. Abigail Kitterman at the age of 81. She was the first white woman who lived in Elm Township. 
She settled on the Gifford farm 43 years ago, where not another house was to be found east of the Lyman Rhodes farm.
